“The Great Gatsby”
Gatsby is a very wealthy man who holds huge
parties every weekend. Nick, his neighbor, feels strange and curious about him，then befriends him. The purpose of these
luxurious parties is to show off Gatsby’s new money to his ex-girlfriend, Daisy,
who married with Tom, a man of old money. This is the reason that Daisy married
Tom is his wealthy property. And now Gatsby has become a millionaire and is still
in love with her and wants to be with her with his new money. With the help of
Nick, they get together at last. However, Daisy still isn’t satisfied with
this. Unfortunately, happy times don’t last long, and in order to protect
Daisy, Gatsby sacrifices himself when he is murdered in the end. Daisy just
does nothing but live with Tom at her mansion without any pity.
It is a great and unique movie. Nick, as narrator,
introduces the plot at the beginning. And at the beginning of this movie, the
music is mysterious and makes people curious about the film. The movie shows
people the American Dream at that era. Money is the start of evil. It’s true
that we can’t do anything without money. But, on the other hand, money can’t do
everything. Self-pursuit and the sense of satisfaction are so important to
everyone.
