Shaun of the Dead

  Shaun of the Dead is a 2004 British zombie comedy film. The story took place in London, the hero--Shaun is a 30- year-old man who seems to never get anything right in his life. Because he never rewarded in recognition of his work and his friends are the people who are loafing around. Not only that, he is also in bad relationship with his girlfriend as well. He rent a house with his friend Pete, a nuisance who only knows playing computer games. One day, numerous zombies are invading the city. They are attacking people and the person who has been bit by zombies will turn into a zombie. Shaun decide to cheer up and go to save his mother and his girlfriend from the zombies. During this battle, Shaun not only saves his and his girlfriend’s life and he also realizes the family affection from his mother and his stepfather. At the same time, he has shown the quality of leadership which he never shows before, and this battle changes Shaun to become a new man who is brave, responsible and mature.

    I really like this film, because it is a very special zombie movie different from any other zombie movies before. When I watch this movie, the most impressive thing I've felt is not horror but English humor which is subtle and different from American spoof humor. The ending of this movie also unexpected, all the zombies are domesticated become human’s entertainment tool , so Shaun locks his friend Pete who became the zombie before in his toolshed and play video game with him. I think this is the most successful of this film--the whole story is out of traditional comedy and zombie movie pattern which we always can guess the ending easily.
