A hundred years ago, swept the world war in almost all countries have disappeared from the earth, the surviving humans gathered in rundown Chicago. The founder of the New World in order to seek a lasting peace, the survivors were sent into Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), and Erudite (the intelligent). Each faction has its own dedicated social responsibility, they work together to promote the progress of this world. When children reach the age of 16, they are subject to a serum-induced psychological test which recommends their best-suited faction, and then are allowed to choose any faction as their permanent faction at the subsequent Choosing Ceremony. Beatrice Prior (Shailene Woodley) who was born in Abnegation and her results show attributes of multiple factions, meaning she is Divergent. Finally she chose to Dauntless. Unfortunately, the leader of Erudite wanted to controlled whole people, and used a medical to control the Dauntless. But because of Divergent can think independently, she should train to make her like a Dauntless and save the innocent person.
This movie is an adolescent fantasy theme movie, and adapted from the novel <Divergent>. The movie created a new world, and everyone can choose what they want. Although this movie had evil people like other science fiction movie, it depended on people’s own choice to fight with those people. It also tells us, we should follow with our heart and fight for our dream. Tireless efforts will eventually realize our dreams. This movie still has some shortcoming for me. The background was unclear and the end is also unclear. Maybe pave the way for the next movie.
