Myeongryang
This movie’s background is
Japanese invasion of Korea in 1597. Yi Sun-Shin who was naval hero was
dispatched to stop Japanese’s invasion. However, Yi Sun-Shin’s turtle-shaped
ships were burnt. Moreover he had soldiers who were lose their fighting spirit,
people who were full of fear, and only 12 ships while Japanese had 330 ships. Even
though he was in the worst condition, he defeated Japanese through his leadership,
resources and trust from people.
Yi Sun-shin is one of the
most popular people in Korea. Most Korean loves him because he fought with
Japanese on the water and he won so many water wars. He protected Joseon
Dynasty. Choi Min-sik who was the actor of Yi Sun-shin acted very well. He showed
Yi Sun-shin’s feeling in that time. The best scene is when Yi Sun-shin should lay
down his life to defeat the Japanese naval forces and protected people and
territory from them, people who watched with nervous pulled up the ship and
saved Yi Sun-shin and the others. This movie shows Yi Sun-shin’s achievement. I
like this movie because Yi Sun-shin was very nice in this movie.
