After seeing the
movie—Forrest Gump, my heart is stricken by the main character—Gump. There are
countless shining points on him, but what attracts me most is his persistence to
the faith in his mind without any hesitation and abandonment. He sticks to doing
what he feels like, he loves who deeply touches him, and he heads for the goal
what he sets up at the beginning. He just follows his heart and approaches to
his dream step by step.
I greatly admire
Gump’s loyalty to Bubba. In US-Vietnam War, he goes back to rescue Bubba
despite others’ objections and dangers. What he thinks is only his friend’s
safety and it gives him endless courage and power. Although his friend doesn’t
survive at last, Gump will never feel woeful because he does what he can do. After
the war, he still holds his promise and finally becomes a shrimp boat captain
as Bubba expects.
I am moved by Gump’s
eternal love to Jenny. No matter how dissolute and degraded she is in others’
eyes, Gump simply loves Jenny and waits for her. There are no limitations and definitions
about love, he just follows his heart and gives Jenny his endless caring! At
the end of the movie, Gump doesn’t mind Jenny’s illness and insists to marry her.
He finally gets Jenny’s sincere love and lives a short but happy life with her
and their son. I can’t forget the scene that they three walk together on the
avenue hand in hand!
I am amazed by Gump’s
long running. When he feels like running, he just does it without any purposes.
It is a decision made by his heart, not related with anybody or anything. He
runs for more than three years and goes through many places which exactly shock
the people in America. What’s more, he ends without premonition. His action is
unbelievable in people’s views, but rather simple in his mind. In contrast, we
are restricted by countless regulations nowadays and never make efforts bravely
to change our lifestyle. However, these so-called limits are set by us. Why not
live like Gump and give ourselves a free time to do something crazy which can
satisfy the desire in our heart?
Please remember,
don’t be regretful that never follow our heart after we get old. Just do what
you think, what you want and love who you love!
