The Legend of 1900

This is the third time I have saw this movie, The Legend of 1900, which still makes me feel touched and enlightened. 1900, the protagonist in this film, he was imprisoned from not only his own music but also his own world, in which the luxurious liner he lived. As for him, music is kind of entertainment, he always play songs for himself and never allow his music separated with himself. Is 1900’s existence special? Not really, his life is more pure and limpid than any of contemporaries owing to not involved in real world. The best place for him to live belongs to Virginian, a Utopia floating on the sea.

To be honest, I was moved by two aspects. One of them is the fantastic artistry, while another is the endless compassion held by 1900 towards music. Jazz music is special and marvelous, it can express everlasting love with depression, at the same time, it even can show its sarcasm of the whole world in that period via appealing notes. Just like the free rhythm possessed by Jazz music, 1900 was mocking this boring world in his existence; however, he felt lamentable about his dramatic birth.

Anyway, it deserves to be seen many times. Music is just one way we show ourselves. Nevertheless, 1900 is more extreme than any of us.
