Taken(2008)

   This movie is the most thrill that I have ever seen. The main character Kim kidnaped while she was traveling Paris. Some handsome guys approched and asked to go their apartment someday. Because Kim and Amanda are 17-year old girls, they don't know how it was dangerous suggestion.



   Before she taken, she remained some clues to her father who was ex-CIA guy, so he starts to find his cherish dauther. His figthing action was awesome, and he did the torturing to find his dauther. It was somewhat cruel and disgusting scene.

   It seemed that he could find his dauther soon, but the situation was very complex. In spite of finding the first kidnapper, they already selled Kim and Amanda to others. In this repeated situation, could he find and rescue his lovely dauther? If you wonder, look this thrill movie!

  While watching this movie, I was so shocked and feeled scary. I  realized we should be careful strangers. There are so many criminals in our world. I want to give 4stars for this scary movie.

             In this move, Welton Academy is famous school.  Many students go to Ivy League after they graduate school. Also, in order to make students go to Ivy League, teachers treat them very hardly. They seem study machine. Many students have followed well of this harsh training until strange teacher is coming, John kitting. He changes this school. He also encourage school think freely. However, this activity is collapsed because principal know that and he restrict that activity. In this movie I see many hard treatment of teachers to students. Also, it makes me remind me the time when I was high school student. I am going to talk about harsh treatments of this school.

The first one is punishment style when students break school rules. When students break school rules, teachers give them various kinds of physical punishments. For example, if students didn’t do their homework, teachers hit them with his rod. Teachers even punish them when an exam score is bad. The reason teachers do such behavior is that they strongly believe the proverb ‘Spare the rod and spoil the child’. Because they want to make students study and get a good result in SAT, they feel they need to hit them.

The second difference is discrimination between inferior and superior students. Teachers give more chance the superior students. Even they ignore and laugh at inferior students about their low grade So it may promote an atmosphere of disharmony between superior and inferior students.

Life Of Pi (2013)

In fact, because this movie is known as superior CG technology compared with contents, there was a suspicion that the setting is really interesting. However, after watching the movie, I feel pity that this movie is just famous as graphics.

Pie lived in the zoo so that the convenience of the house, and went to Immigration to Canada. And, leaving the lover who he loves, he begin voyage far. However, the hero, Pie, who lost a family become a sinking, and the ship was fit in distress in the ocean along with the Bengal tiger and chuck the times of only a small bathtub by storm intense day. In order to find a way to coexist with Richard Parker, Bengal tiger, using the theme of faith and hope and survival without releasing a string of per minute tension. I can find in the process hope and survival of the faith, and it can be to be a movie that showed me a good desire for life.

This movie gave a lesson unknown to me all the time to see. It seems to give enlightenment on their own, but when I feel that is associated with religion, it was not possible to adjective certainly. To me that I thought to pursue that realistic, would not serve any purpose religion, and tell me what I believe in God, perhaps that might be based, even in terrible no matter how the situation. It also taught me that I can be able to go on living. Of course, it was in addition to that it has actually happened, but all the time to see the movie, I received the impression that he is listening to fiction. Richard Parker was that another friend to me who likes animals. And it planted the adventure of another story of Richard Parker and Pie and me together. And, around to hear the story of the pie that was "It is so sad all were meant to break up without saying that properly" and I also received us feel that good to people. And I can know how can I do when we are given a farewell that is not ready to me.

And one other is CG. I can know why would have been known as great graphical content. Can you hit if expressed as, ‘each one of scenes gives a great wonder.’ I catch at once the line of sight to the color composition from the scene. It did not take some pictures, but it will be even forget that this is CG and raw when viewed from scenes. I feel like have a drifting together tiger and a boy really is. Island which came out in the middle, in particular, would not be an exaggeration to say that the whole island and CG, but it was only kneel to technology of the 21st century was vividly expressed it that way. Receive the impression of one to one beautiful scene, it was a strange movie of true enlightenment to give silent in it.

Can you control your dreams?

Of course, most of people can’t manipulate their dream.

But if you can manipulate others’ dream, you can control others’ subconscious.

In this movie, subconscious is main topic. Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) can control others’ dream. First, Cobb try to steel Mr.saito’s secret but Mr. saito, ambitious Japanese businessman, notice that Cobb manipulate Mr.saito’s dream. After failing mission, Cobb is caught by Mr.saito. Instead of kill Cobb, Mr.saito gives Cobb a chance to work for him. Mr.saito wants to manipulate Robert Michael Fischer, Jr’s dream.

Cobb's wife is Cobb's kind of achilles hill. she killed herself. but Cobb can't let her go. he has 

an obsession about memory that he lived with her. Cobb's wife always appear his dream and she bother him.

That is the main story of this movie. The most important thing is that sometimes we confuse the real world with the imaginary world. The reason that it is important thing is  When we wake up, we are often not sure if we live in real world or imaginary world, like Matrix.

This movie has a unique premise. In this movie, US government sets a special day called ‘The Purge.’ During the Purge day, American legitimately kills anyone. Main character ‘James Sandin’ is working for a Security Company that protects its customer from the Purge day. At the first scene, Zoey Sadin, daughter of James, bring boyfriend to hers home. But Henry, Zoey’s boyfriend, attacks James. Fortunately, James didn’t hurt but Henry dead because James fights back. At that time, Charlie Sandin, James’s son, hear that someone beg to help. So Charlie help stranger to avoid from killer. But stranger hid himself from Sadin’s family in disorder. After that, killers visit his house to find him. But James also does not know where he is. So James hangs around house to find out and capture but he cannot find because Charlie helps stranger to hide. So killer kills James and James’s neighbors try to kill James’s family but stranger helps them to survive.

I don’t recommend this movie. Because this movie’s premise has a novelty but this story must not be developed in this way. Usually when I see a movie, I hate and blame villain but when I see this movie, I hate main character. Charlie and Mary have a stupid and useless warm heart. I think Charlie and Mary spoil this movie.

When I was in middle school, I used to watch this movie. main theme of this movie is one that escape from the jail. This movie is based on mid 1900's. believe or not, during the middle school, I was so depressed. but when i saw, I can feel free. the most famous movie scene, the moment of escaping from jail, I was impressed.

In this movie, main character Andy Dufresns was a bank accountant. He is smart and he is seemed to be innocent. He didn't kill his wife, but he was framed. He tries to prove that he is not guilty. However, he was punished. And then he is gone to jail. In the jail, he is the weakest guy. He was prayed by criminals. There are many violation and sexual abuse. But the chief of warden uses him as accountant. He can avoid criminal’s violation. And then he hears about his friend’s story by accident. That story is similar with his story and he thinks that is the real criminal. So he tries telling to the court. However, warden prevents him from telling, because warden doesn't want to lose him. He was taking a lot of bribe. Andy helps him to do money laundering.

So he tries to escape from jail. Finally he escapes for jail. And then he ruins chief of warden’s life.

He spread out his story through the news paper. And he withdraws warden’s entire bribe.

soon, his friend red is also released by jury. so they meet again.

i saw this movie more than 5 times. this movie is represent our depressed  soul. when he escapes from jail, I feel delightful.

Last Holiday (2006)

 

 

 

     After I entered the university, I have always thought about my dream and future. Now, my dream job is to become a public official because I wish to have just stable and static job. But actually, I did not have enough time deciding on my career and what my real dream is. When I was a high school student, I just studied for the college admisson, not for my dream. Because admissions policies of many colleges in Korea are rather difficult and complex, most of students fierecely compete to enter the university which each student want to go. Like many students, I have just studied without specific dream!

 

     Meanwhile, I was recommended to watch this movie by one of my friends. While I watched this movie, I asked myself some questions about my dream and future again and again. - What kind of job is I really want to do?, Can I enjoy the job later? The reason why I asked myself these questions is that this movie is about life and future!

 

     The main character in this movie is Georgia who is worker in the cookware department at Department store. She lives an ordinary life and sometimes writes her dreams down in a journal. Its name is 'Possibilies', which is similar to 'Bucket list'. In this journal, there are many of her wishes

such as eating Didie's dishes, marrying Sean Williams who is her coworker. Then one day, she goes to the hospital because of her a bump on her head, but she becomes to hear a terrible result! The docter says she had fatal brain tumors. She can't believe it, so she bemoans her unlucky fate with crying. Later, she decides that she will live luxurious and elegant life for the remainder of her life.

    

She quits her job and draws all money from the bank, and then she leaves New Orleans for her real dream. She lives luxurious life from that time. During her flight, she travels first class. Then. she stays at the one of the most finest hotels and eats very expensive dishes - even Didie's dishes! She plays sport what she likes. She also spend her last days with her lover, Sean. I was impressed by her optimism and confidence even though she can live just four weeks. And I considered about my life sincerely - I only live once, but I have never really enjoyed my life. Actually, I want to do many things in the remainder of my life; espically, a journey around the world and adventures that I have never experienced. You will think about these things after you watch this movie, like me. So I really want to recommend this movie. I am so sure that this movie will be a energizer for your lethargic and boring life. I want to give this movie two thumbs up!

I really like playing soccer. However, not only playing soccer but also watching soccer game by television is the best way to enjoy my free time. Especially English premier league is really interesting league. There are many famous soccer players who I know as my FIFA game characters.

This movie is so not famous to many women. But, if they watch it, they can understand men’s soccer life and their goal that they want to get. The movie name is GOAL.

Main character, Santiago munez, is really a promising soccer player in his village. But his house is really poor, so he doesn’t enough time and money to play soccer all day. In addition, his father has worked for a long time as a gardener. His father really wants to buy a new truck for better work. He knows munez has been earning money by winning reward of soccer game. But, the money is only for his dream to go England for better his soccer life in England.

But, it would not be long time for him to know his dream is collapsed because his father buys a new truck by his money.  He is really depressed. However, new opportunity comes to him soon. A coach retired few years ago from EPL have gaped him for a long time. So, the coach helps him to go to EPL. He starts his second life in England.

In England, he didn’t adapt new environment. Nobody help him in filed. He really tried to overcome his bad condition and dead rock by himself. Playing soccer from early morning to sunset alone by training, munez is changed. He catches up many team mates. He gets high confidence. Coach and director decide him to put in player list. That is his debut day as soccer player of New castle in EPL.

during his day in EPL, he suffers many situation to be famous and great player of the league. i usually think why he becomes famous. he also has good luck and good skills but, the most valuable thing is not to give up anytime whatever he do and whenever he plays against strong teams.

i want to give 5 stars for this movie. it is really subjective evaluation.... but i want to do. because,i really like soccer. in addition, there are many star players as cameo for this movie. this movie gave me great impression. so, whoever can't live without soccer, i really recommend this movie to the people.

The hunger games

 The hunger game, it is the most cruel game in the history. In the Panem, each distr
ict choose one boy and one girl under 18 for participating in this cruel game. Each of representatives learn how to survive and kill other representatives and the last person becomes the winner. The winner can live as a royal person.  Katniss Everdeen, the sixteen-year-old girl was chosen as a representative of District 12. Originally, her sister was chosen, but Katniss replaced for her sister because her sister was too young to participate in the game.

 She asked Gale to take care of her family and depart for the game. She met Haymich, the winner of the last game from District 12. He teached her how to survive and how to attract the committee. she attracts the committee with her own charm and get a lot of supports. Despite of many threats of the union of other representatives and hazards, she finally won the game with Peeta, the boy from same district.
 I have heard of this movie many times, but I didn't have much time for watching this movie. However, on Thanksgiving hoilday, I saw this movie by chance in my friend's house. It captivated me from the beginning of the movie. If I was Katniss, I would not replace such a dangerous thing. I was surprised of her courage and love for her sister.
 I thought that how humans greed will cruel when I saw the people drive young boys and girls to the place of death for prosperity of their district. I was moved by the behavior of Katniss that helped a little girl from other district while other cruel and merciless young people tried to kill others.

Twilight, one of The Twilight Saga film series, is a romantic fantasy movie based on the novel of the same name. The story is about the relationship between a teenage girl Bella Swan and Edward Cullen a vampire.

One day, Bella moves to a small town in Washington to live with her father after her parents get divorced. Also, she transfers her school to new one, and there she sees some people from Cullen families. In a class, she sits next to one of them Edward and says hello to him, but his response is a little indifferent although he feels attracted to her. A few days later, Bella is almost hit by a truck in school. At that moment, Edward lets the truck stop just with his hand, and she asked him to explain how he does that. However, he never tells about that. After that, she becomes curious about him.

While I was watching this film, I imagined that I and a vampire falls in love each other like the main characters, Bella and Edward although I do not like romance movie that much. It was because both of them are very attractive as the characters of the movie and stars. If you watch this movie, you will be attracted to them. In this movie, the actress Kristen Stewart acts as Bella and the actor Robert Pattinson as Edward. As I know, they are actually a couple, but I do not know they are keeping their relationship even until now.

Although this is a romantic fantasy movie, lots of people dream a true love as the movie shows at least once because Edward devotes himself to protect Bella from danger from some vampires. I want to recommend this movie to those who want to see Edward and Bella's true love.

   It’s time to prepare Merry Christmas.  About this time every year, Korean broadcasters always televise this movie, and every single lady and man watch this movie on Christmas. We remember all story of Kevin.

   Kevin is a kind of heroes in this movie. He is also the main character. He is the youngest of many children in the family, and the brothers and sisters left him out in the cold. Family regarded him as a troublemaker. He even wanted to live alone. One day, he fought to his brother who ate his pizza, and the mother drove him out of the room, and he went up to the attic. At that time, Kevin’s family and the guests planned to go to France, their relative’s country on Christmas break. However, at night the wind blew hard, and the electricity in the house was off. The family overslept, hurried to keep the flight time, and left Kevin in the loft.

   Next day, Kevin got up, and was greatly pleased because the family who bullied him was not there. In contrast, the mother cried out in surprise at his absence, but she couldn’t call him, and didn’t know what to do. In addition, the seats in airplanes were sold out. Kevin didn’t know about it, and just enjoyed the situation.

   Meanwhile, two burglars had eyes on his house. Kevin noticed it, and felt fear and loneliness. He got missing the family. On Christmas, he met a man who wore a Santa Clause Costume, and asked him to return his family to home rather than gifts. On the way to home, he met an old man, his neighbor who lived alone. Kevin’s brother had said that he is a horrible killer; in fact, he is a poor grandfather yet. He lived away from his sons and daughters. Kevin realized that he is not a bad guy, and even advised him to request reconciliation.

   Then Kevin returned to home, and devised a scheme to prevent his house from theft. He prepared to treat them. He sprinkled water on steps, utilized his brother’s spider, iron, paint, BB gun, etc. He salted them down with various tools. These scenes were very interesting and funny. Fortunately, the burglars were very stupid, and hurt very much in the scenes. They played the ridiculous. Finally, smart Kevin was caught by them, but the old neighbor appeared, and defeated two fools. Then the family returned, and the old man’s met their family again.

   As I’m writing this plot, I get missing my family in Korea. This movie is not only a Comic Movie, but also a Family Movie. It reminds me of preciousness of family again. If I was him, what would I do? I’m not sure. I would be just scared of them. I really admired Kevin and the director of this movie. Although time went, this movie is still one of the famous Christmas movies. It makes me happy and warm-hearted. I am likely to send Christmas time with this movie this year. It is really well made, so I give this movie five stars out of five stars.

This movie made me remind of the pleasant memories of childhood game. The main character, Ralph, is a villain that interrupts Felix’s repair by breaking a brick in the game, Fix it Felix. Although he is a bad character in the game, he wants to be loved and a hero.

 

But, he received a cold treatment from the inhabitants at the 30th anniversary of the game, and they said him that if he gets a medal, they will accept him. So, he leaved the game for his purpose to get a medal. In this process, he visits other games. Finally, he got a medal, but Vanellope, who has an error, take the medal for taking part in race in Sugar-Rush. After Ralph understands her poor conditions, he begins to help her.

 

 

The view of this move focus on villains and it makes the movie fresher. There is a three-dimensional world, which many game characters are living. And their vividly lives in game seem that those can be real! Although the genre of this movie is animation, the movie shows other kinds of scene which are unlikely to put on one movie.

 

 

 Through many games, there are various setting. For example, we can find science fiction scene in Hero’s duty, and the racing scene in Sugar-Rush. And there are not only these visual interests, but also music. When Vanellope drives in race, Rihanna’s shut up and drive plays by back-ground music.

So I can feel the director concentrate his effort on this movie. And it contains the structure well organized. If you see this movie, the movie will meet your expectation. I rate it 4 of 5 stars.

       'The Devil Wears Prada' is about a woman who wants to be a journalist. This movie shows 'American Dream' in fashion. It also shows the fantastic world of fashion. They show many brands and fashion stars in this movie.

 

       The main character 'Andy' is very general woman. She doesn't know about fashion. She just thinks that fashion isn't much important in her life. However, when she goes to the 'RUNWAY' ,which is famous for fashion magazine company,  Everything is changed. But this experience is the most memorable memory in her life. Andy shows the biggest change in this movie. Although she hated her boss at first in the movie, then she understand her boss at the end. This change is the main point of this movie. It also enlarges to people's job. Some people think that the job which he or she doesn't know much seems to be strange to them. However, that job will be very important for another person.

 

       Another main character 'Miranda' is the chief editor in 'RUNWAY' fashion magazine. She is very strict and rigid in her work. She also command very difficult things to secreteries. However, She has to do strict and rigid because of her responsibility. In her work, fashion is the most, so she can't emphasis on another things such as couple relationship and her daughters. This kind of contradictions shows in the movie.

 

       The interesting in this movie is that many brands are shown without any changes. Actually, when the director wants to use the brands, it shows part of its brand or blurs the brand. However, this movie shows the mark very clearly. The actors and actresses talk about brands very clearly. At first, I'm very surprised about this fact. I can't imagine that 'Starbucks' or 'Prada' is shown very clearly.

 

       In conclusion, this movie has many visible thing that woman can attract about the movie. I also attracted by many fashions, clothes, bags, and accessaries. However, we have to realize that this movie isn't shown just for fun. This movie shows the people's mind of its job too. Therefore, I give 5 stars out of 5 to this movie.

All Good Things (2010)

   Real estate in 1973, New York's son Robert Durst (Ryan Gosling Ryan Gosling) is married to a beautiful poor student Kathleen McCormack (Banks, Dunst Kirsten Dunst). Two people after marriage leave the city, to the countryside to enjoy a quiet time, Katie when returning back to school to continue their studies. Everything seems to be happy, but in 1982, Kathleen search may not be missing suddenly. 2000 Durst friend Susan Berman was found dead in their home, the disappearance of 20 years ago was to revive, Durst for these two case by asking, but are not Sue because of insufficient evidence. Durst neighbor Morris, 2001, Black was killed, the body is broken down, he again doubt be prosecuted, but was acquitted after a famous lawyer. Perhaps, we become more and more deviate from the original natural appearance, life is more and more lost the original goodness and dream. I think we are DURST. I will give this movie 5 stars.

Great Gatsby (2013)

The movie was based on the same name novel composed by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, which enjoys a very high reputation in America. The movie tells a beautiful and sorrowful love story. As the teller in the movie, writer Nick witnessed the whole tragedy of Gatsby. Nick went to New York, where lived his gorgeous cousin Daisy and her millionaire husband Tom, to chase his dream of America. His was invited to kinds of feasts and even taken to have fun with married women. Gradually, Nick found himself lost in a land of fascination, fake and lie. However, things changed since he met Gatsby. Gatsby is so special that he is the only person Nick found having a spirit of hope in this lost city. Nick was shocked and confused by the extravagant party Gatsby held at first, but he learned the secret hidden deeply in Gatsby's heart later. He loves Daisy, even though she didn't wait him and married rich man Tom. His love toward Daisy hadn't changed a little and he believes so had Daisy. After making the first step to try to retrieve the beloved women, Gatsby involved in a series of events and finally lost his life.

Gatsby failed and, personally, this is why he can be named "The Great Gatsby". His story perfectly explains the concept of America Dream. He was bore in a poor family,at the bottom of the society. Unfortunately, he had a crush on a girl, Daisy, who should never marry him. However, he never gave it up. In the race of time, he didn't make it. He succeed and Daisy married other man. The tragedy is that when everyone is trapped in a paradise made up by the gold and lies, Gatsby is the only guy who follows his own voice. His love is so genuine and fierce that he can barely realize how difficult it would be to break the fence of that "lost paradise". Just like the green light on the other side of the bank, his dream seems close but, actually, cannot be touched. Daisy was stuck in the sludge of wealth and lie. Instead of the call of love, Gatsby eventually received a bullet from the hypocritical world. Like other tragic characters in the works written by Aeschylus, the great Ancient Greek tragedian, Gatsby fights with the whole hypocritical upper society on his own. He is a extreme pure dreamer, he rejects to bend to the reality but maintain himself authentic all the time. He is really a great guy. I will give this movie 4 stars.

Blindness (2008)

Have you ever imagined about sudden unhappiness? Then, have you ever imagined about invisible world? When my sight got worse, I worried about being invisible without glasses. Finally, I started to wear glasses and felt depressed because of inconvenience. At that time, my brother who liked such profound and given lessons learned movies made me watch a certain movie.

The movie 'Blindness' is about the chaotic world. Because of cruel and confusing scenes, this movie requires accompanying parents or adult guardian if the under seventeen want to watch. It is an adaptation in sub-genre. Originally, the book published first and then movie released. The book which was published by Portuguese writer was acclaimed about the subject 'invisible society', then he got the Nobel Prize later.

The main character is a woman who did not have a disease. As the people become blind, she might feel shocked. Because it was that the people had to do various kinds of activity, such as defecating anywhere, threatening through their own food and so on. In these scenes, I thought that it looks more serious by bringing into relief through sudden disease of blindness. I thought seriously what these situations gave me, but it may not be good.

If you were the main character, what would you think of that situation? There may be many lessons in this movie. I think that the movie director wanted to show the limitation of majesty and nobility between people. And when you see this movie, you can't miss that she couldn't solve these problems. It may give us lesson as the importance of community. It shows that the society which people don't recognize the destruction of the world might be remained only bad things such as plunder, violence, rape.

Also, it reminds me of the society of human. If you watch 'Blindness', you would think of many things. And you would satisfied with being visible in spite of wearing glasses. I want to give 4.5 stars out of 5 for this movie. It is a profound movie, but some informative and exciting.

Spirit (2002)

The contents of the movie is simple. European immigrants trying to settle in the Americas, they were getting many Mustangs.  However, this film shows a completeness that will not be considered merely for fun. I was able to feel positive affection to the home country of the author's rather. Main character in the movie progresses shows the behavior and personality of the hero and American style, but because the main character is a word, it was so that you can get the sympathy rather.     This film Corpse Bride is stop-motion feature animation film directed by Tim Burton, and the genre of this is a fantasy. I wanted to another stop-motion film after I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, so I chose this movie.

 

    To be brief, the story is about marriage between Victor who promised marriage with Victoria and corpse bride Emily. They encountered when Victor put a wedding ring on Emily's finger, which looks like root of tree, by mistake. Emily rose from the grave and said that she was his wife from now on. So, he was taken to the land of the dead by his corpse bride. Actually, she was a bride who was about to be married when she lived, and she was murdered by someone few years ago. After they met with each other, Victor tried to escape from her and reunite Victoria at the land of the living constantly. Emily was hurt by his indifference. And, Victor had inner conflict between Victoria and Emily.

 

    I was really impressed by the background of this movie: Between the land of the dead and the land of the living. In this movie, Tim Burton describes the land of the dead lively and positive, so I never feel bad about it. Rather, the land of the living is described inanimate and mechanical in contrast with the land of the dead. In this regard, this movie is so ironic. Even when living people and dead people reunited, I'm so surprised because I had thought that death is terrible and negative, but this movie shows that life and death are naturally connected. This movie changed my thinking.  

    Also, I felt a particular interest in the fact that this movie consists of stop-motion. Like The Nightmare Before Christmas, the graphic of this movie is  surprisingly natural. Although main materials in this movie are horrifying skeletons and ghosts, I could enjoy watching them and have so much fun!

 

    I think Johnny Depp's voice (Victor) was contributed to the amusement of this movie. His voice matched the character 'Victor' very well. Maybe, Tim Burton loved Johnny Depp so much!
