Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002)



The main character of the movie “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” is not human, but just horse, called Spirit. He is the leader of horse herd. This movie’s time period is the expedition and developing the west side of the United States of America. This movie has some characteristics of adventure genre. The main character of this movie adventure the world and conflict with the villain and has some hardship because of villain but finally, the main character defeats the villain. Spirit was caught by human because his curiosity. He was sold at American Army. He treated very cruelly, such as, cut down his beautiful furs and banded in small room and wasn’t given any food or water because he resisted to the human. But soon he escaped because one native American helped him to escape. But he captured again, but he escaped again. And finally, he defeats the United States army.

         The main character of this movie can be explained by archetype. First, main character of this movie, Spirit is hero, because he conflicted with villain and saved the nature. Second, the Native American boy is sidekick. He helped Spirit escape the American army’s barracks. Also, he taught Spirit how to live people in here and introduce beautiful mare, Rain. He escaped Sprit again when he was caught again and lead him. Finally, the chief of the United state’s army is villain. He treated Spirit very badly such as don’t give him food and water. Also, he bothered Spirit and Native American endlessly.
