             Slumdog millanarie is quiz show movie. One poor man succeeded to solve difficult quizzes which can not be solved of famous professors. So, the host of quiz show accused him to police because how that homeless guy can solve such difficult quizzes that can’t be solve professors. So, police officers questioned him how he can solve such quizzes. The secret of way of solve such hard questions is just his hardship experiences when he was child to now.

 

             This movie shows India penniless people’s society. It’s society is very dirty, dangerous and cruel. First, kids are grown up near the landfill area. There is very insanitary place and bad place where children are grown. Also, children grows very dangerous place. In this movie one child was kidnapped. The person who kidnapped child committed very cruel and disgusting deed. He seared Jamal’s brother’s eye with a hot iron. This scene is not only disgusting but also pity. Why he dare to lose little child’s sight? Because, when people see little child beg, blind children are more appearing because people fill a sympathetic.

 

             Also, little girls are grown poor environment. In this movie, main woman character, Latica is also penniless. After she kidnapped, Jamal try to rescue her and plead to gangster to relieve her. But, gangster said little girls are very expensive. In there, homeless girls are just means of trade.

Mist (2007)

 At the beginning of this movie, people face new, strange creatures. They beat people to death and no one knows about their information. People are gathered in a big discount store to avoid them. They are afraid of strange creatures. They keep hunting people, and people don’t know how to defend themselves from those disgusting. The movie is fast-moving. In ten minutes, people hide to avoid the kind of monsters. People just wait for government’s help, and they fight for trivial reasons in the store.

 Critics called this movie as a B movie. Personally, I can’t understand their estimation. We can guess they just considered limited space -actually, during the most of running time, we just see people in the store-, or they felt that the plot is similar to those of other movies. They could think so, but if they do so, they missed some important parts of this movie. Then what are the parts?

   First, it is similar to others, but it also has a little difference from them. In most of Horror and Thriller movie, main characters are strong, calm, and they never give up hopes. It seems that this hero-David- is also strong and calm at first, but getting the end of the movie, this movie shows his another features. He was brave and active at first, but he couldn’t keep his precious someone in the end. From this plot, we can find it repetitive hardships could reduce people’s judgment.

   Second, the movie describes well mob psychology when in danger. In the store, they have all things to survive, but they continue division. Someone wants to go outside, and other one tried to propagate her pseudo-religion. Normal people also become mad. They start to believe the false religion, and try to kill each other as a sacrifice for monsters. We find that we can easily be cruel and violent when we meet unknown risk.

   Finally, the government comes to the village to help them. However, it is so late. People are already crazy, and they’ve fallen into despair. This situation is similar to real-world situation. Usually, our government very belatedly responds to many things.

In conclusion, this movie gives us several lessons, so I give it four points of five points.

Life of Pi (2012)

 

 

 

     Have you imagined about being alone with animal in a strange place? Especially, if the animal is a terrifying tiger, what will you do? This movie is related to this matter. The movie Life of Pi is the second greatest 3D movie I have ever seen after I watched Avatar. The main character is an Indian man named Pi Patel. Because his father was the owner of a zoo, Pi could meet many animals and feel little interest in the tiger 'Richard Parker'.

 

     Then one day, Pi's father said that he must sell the zoo and move his family to Canada.

But, unfortunately, they met a huge storm while they were taking a ship. Although Pi tried to save his family, he was the only one who survived. By the way, there are strange animals such as zebra, orangutan, hyena in the lifeboat! To make matter worse, the other animals died and Pi was alone with Richard Parker! Pi struggled to survive with the wild tiger, trying to protect from the tiger. At first, he felt scared and attempted to fight bravely against Richard. But, as time goes by, he adapt to that situation and tried to commune with Richard.

 

 

     I think the relationship between Pi and Richard is similar to internal conflict of a human being. Although a person felt frightened about future and resist against it, he finally adjusts to that later. Also, Pi fed the tiger and trained to accept him in the boat during the adventure.Even when Richard fell into water, Pi rescued him because of a sense of kindship. I was impressed by the scene. I think that the tiger is just fierce animal and enemy of man.

 

     Most of all, I was moved to admiration by the fantastic computer graphics in this movie. When the night comes, the sea glittered by a lot of jellyfish. Sometimes a huge whale appeared during Pi's boring and tiring adventure. Everything in this 3D movie was enough to fascinate me. Are you curious about the ending? I will not tell you anything about that. Just watch it. You will enjoy this movie while you are watching it.

I want to give this movie two thumbs up!   

500 Days of Summer (2009)

 

500 Days of Summer is one of the movies I like although I do not like romantic comedy movies. This movie is a story about a man and a woman, but at the beginning of the movie, it says "not a romance movie." This is one of reasons why I like the movie.

 

In this movie, there are two main characters, Tom and Summer. When Tom was a child, he watched lots of movies and listened to music a lot. Therefore, he has a fantasy about love and believes that someday his fate will appear in front of him. Oh the other hand, Summer is a woman who does not believe love exists, and also she is realistic and honest. Tom, who has a different point of view from her about love, becomes to love Summer at his work. Finally, he could be close to Summer as he kisses her, so he wants to be sincere in love with her. However, she does not want to be restricted as a girlfriend, and she just wants to be his friend. Why does she think so?

 

Before I watched this movie, I could not think Summer is a woman's name. I just thought Summer is summer, which is one of four seasons. It was interesting that the movie made me think about what the title of this movie implies. Also, before starting, this movie says "not a romance movie." At first, I was embarrased, but I tried to find out the reason why this is not a romance movie while watching. In my opinion, this movie may want to emphasize that all events in this movie are similar to most couples' love story.

 

Because of these reasons, I think this movie is very famous among people and this makes them sympathize watching this movie. They can think about love at least once. I recommend this movie to other people and want to give this movie 5 stars.

How to make an American Quilt (1995)

        'How to make an American Quilt' is the movie that shows American culture briefly. The main character 'Finn' is the woman who writes her paper in her grandma's house. The movie has many stories that Finn realize about her life agian.

       There are many people in this movie. First, Glady and Hy are the sisters. In the past, they didn't have memorable past because of the personal relationships. But now, they are the best combination in the quilt club. Next is Sophia. She wanted to be free but she was depressed about her marriage. Also, Em has handsome husband, but he is casanova. Constnace has a dead husband, and she always misses her husband. Anna had a shor love in her life. Like this, there are many stories and many experiences that Finn heard. These stories are main point of Finn's future. She changes her mind by listening these stories.

       In addition, there are some American culture in this movie. First is Quilt culture. The quilt that made in the movie has its meaning for each quilts. The most important thing in doing quilt is the balance. Furthermore, quilt is like American culture; Salad bowl. Compared to melting pot, America has many subculture in many districts. Finally they show the slaves in this movie. It is associated with the America history.

       Although this isn't a romance movie, and this is not interesting to see the stories. However, we can see many American cultures by this movie, and we also can know the quilt meaning by other way. At first, I thought that this movie was boring to see because there are no actions, or interesting romances. But when I see this again, I feel many things about quilt and life. Thus, I give 4 stars out of 5 to this movie.

Avartar (2009)

Most people might see that it has more than 11 million people seeing this moive just in South Korea. The movie is "Avatar". So I want to ask you, have you ever thought about having own avaratar. After seeing the movie, I have had fun with such imagination dream seems suddenly and young children until now. It is the best gift director James Cameroon has given me through the movie’s pleasant imagination.

 

Jake the hero was the Marines of the past in the film, but the body of the place that became paralyzed from the waist. It would then go to the planet of Pandora on his body, with his avatar. Jake couldn’t walk and have to attend to wheelchair. But in planet of Pandora, he can run over the tree and ran fully with a body of butterfly tribe exercise capacity many times than those who also excellent top of the giants of the height 3m. But one problem is that if he has to work that is connected to the avatar into the box of the link, and the avatar body consciousness of human beings become one. And once you cut the link, avatar is falling back on what doll without conscious.

 .

 

However, the moment the spirit of Jake is gradually transferred to the avatar, he turns into a completely different presence more than once the limits of his limitations. So, people do many things in there that can not happen in there.

 

To abandon the life of man, Jake, reborn in the Navi group with the aid of spiritual tree at the last scene of the movie. It is a re-birth and links machine is no longer necessary. However, I have enough to buy the "life of ordinary people" while many problems just as well. I do not even allow you machine of the link, while the effort to be similar to the figure of the avatar that I dream to not enough and if there are not enough, just live that way. If that did not fulfill me, if our generation does not fulfill, others will continue to achieve in reality little by little the dream of my generation so that the next go on. It is like a human life. He‘s Just Not That Into You(2009)

 

  This romantic comedy movie show us common love story that we could experience on our life. There are several type of couples who are undergoing love troubles. The most impressive thing is that women usually twist single signs men give to them, and women misunderstand men's minor words to something romantic signs. It actually happens to my friends and I.





  The main character Alex looks like a surpassing adviser, and judges people by his own signs. He explain normal boys mind when they loves somebody or not. By watching this movie, I can realize many differences between women and men's word, behavior, and way of thinking.


  I really recommend this movie to you guys who are anticipating real love. I know my peers attract this kind of romantic comedy movie, so don't hesitiate and watch it. This movie could be a great guidelines to you. I give 4.5stars to this movie.

Warm Bodies(2013)

The movie ‘warm bodies’ is a part of comedy, horror, love genre. I think this movie is so original. I think almost movies about zombie are horrible. However, this movie isn’t. This film is about a love of Zombie man and human girl. They are so cute couples. I thought zombie is so dangerous and bad, but my thoughts were changed after I had watched this film.

 

I really like this film’s main character. His name is ‘R’. He don’t remember his name, age, who he was. One day, he met a beautiful girl, her name was ‘Jullie’, she is so kind and brave girl. They fell in love. This film is a story of their romance, but not only romance. It was fun and little scary too.

In this movie, there are many zombies comes out. They are just zombies not special. But only 'R' was differnet. He had thinkings. He could think and speak, little. It is diiferenties with other zombies. He was special zombie, and after he met one girl, he will be more changed by that girl.

People tried to kill him and other zombies. However, they are not forgive, and overcame, and trying to be human. It was really impressed and touching story to me.

I think this movie’s main actor is so handsome. I like him very much. His name is Nicholas Hoult. He acted many movies. Another his film is ‘Jack the giant killer’. I watched that movie too. He acted very well. He was really lovely character in this film.

At first I watched this film, I was little worried, because I don't like zombies. I really scared of them. fortunately, in this film I don't hate them. because they are so cute. Their appearance was so scary but their acting was so cute. It was just my opinion, so someone think they are scary. anyway, I like them so much. If you have a prejudice of zombies, you will be changed, after watching this movie. In this movies, zombies are not scary. some of them scary, but not at all. some zombies are very gentle and good. 

After I watch this film, I hope that meeting a zombie someday. It will be very special experience to me. Actually, I saw a zombie, just one time last Holloween in the six flags. I saw some zombies, but It was so horrible. Moreover, I coudn't say hello to them. The fact that the zombies are scary is not changed to me. but I think It will be helpful to cange your prejudice of zombies.

This movie was so exciting and thrilling and fun,  I want to give 5 stars out of 5 to this movie. I hope I can watch this movie again.  If you like horror movie or romantic comedy movie, I want to recommend this movie to you. Because this movie has both of 2 genrs, so you will be enjoy watching this. I hope you will love this movie.

Click (2006)

Have you imagined that you control your own time such as rewinding when you get in trouble? I've imagined about changing my time as I like. I wanted to pause when I am with my girlfriend and spend time quickly when I go to school. So, I thought if there is a remote controller which treats time what I want. This movie that I am about to explain is related to my thoughts.

The movie 'Click' is a part of comedy, fantasy and drama genre. It treats very exciting material. It is the 'time'. There is a main character who named 'Michael Newmon'. One day, he got an almighty remote controller, then he could do what he wanted to do. As the time goes, he forgot about his important things because of his ignorance about time.

While I was watching, I thought that it gives some lessons to the watchers.
First, spending much time with your family is the most important in your lifetime. As Michael uses almightily remote controller many times, he started to get in trouble. In these scenes, there were lots of comic scenes. However, through this behavior, this movie gives us the importance of acquaintance. Especially, the last scene which is rainy day gives us the importance extremely.

Furthermore, I think that it is good to be satisfied with the present right now. The time in the past never come back. If you are satisfied with, now you are happy and will have a great time in the future. Also, by knowing about his future, he recognized his arrogance and individualism.
If you watch this movie, you may have mixed feelings about your own life.

As I came to America, I didn't know about the importance of family. But while watching, I felt regrettable and thought that I would spend my time to my important people appropriately. And if you watch the movie 'Click', you would change your pessimistic mind. Be positive and be satistied with your own present time. This movie gave me some meaningful things. I really recommend if you like a part of comic and dramatic movies. Therefore, in my case,  I give 4.5 stars out of 5 to this movie.

When I was kid, I really liked to watch this movie because Kevin was my hero. Even though, Kevin is just little kid, but he try to catch robbers.

Kevin’s families are waiting to go France. Kevin is typical troublemaker. Before they go to France, Kevin fights with buzz. Because buzz eats cheese pizza that Kevin is the most favorite. Family blames him for his attitude. So parents punish him with going to an attic. At this time, telephone pole was broken down by wind. As a result, alarm clock is shut downed. In order to go airport on time, they hurry away without check their family. But Kevin slept in the attic. Airplane takes off with Kevin’s family. Kevin’s family doesn’t notice until taking their baggage.

At that time, Kevin likes this situation that all family disappears. He feels free. In a short time, he feels sad because of absent of families. Furthermore, robbers try to commit theft Kevin’s house. But Kevin is very afraid to fight with thief. Kevin hides under the bed. But he decides to fight. So he makes a lot of booby-traps. I think that he torcher the thefts. He has no mercy.

 

I saw this move countlessly. This movie reflects social problem. A double income family was social issue. And they often worried about their son. Because their son always alone in their house. Second, in this movie, slap comedy is really good. The stupid robbers give a big fun to audience.

My score is 5/5 I really recommend this movie. Especially you have nothing to do at Christmas.

Toy story3 (2010)

I have a big biased view that animation is childish. I have had this mind,too. But we have many recollections about animation when we saw in child times.
Toy story, this is one of my best animation in my child. So when I heard the third series is released, I ran to the theater and watched that.
In the end of the movie, I was affeted and cried loudly. I think this impression is not because of  just toy story3, it is because of reminding my child times with watching piror serieses.
Although this movie is opened to anybody including children, but I think it is for the adults. This is a message that Pixa give to adults who saw piror serieses. These adults are similiar with Andy who forgot the toys. Synopsis seemed to be made for adult, too. For example, toys which are in vending machine were gathered at night for gambling. And Buzz who is the presence of justice became the villian and monitored his friends.
Unhappy ending is charm of Toy story3. Where  is unreal ending like that toys come back to Andy and Andy love them? Instead of this unreal ending, in Toy story3, toys sent to a little girl who is similiar with Andy's child times. How real this movie is! In little girl's love, toys might feel happy and help to make girl's growth.

 Adults, grew up with watching the Toy story and their real toys, maybe sympathize with this movie and feel sorry to their real toys. I threw away many toys in child times. So I felt these feeling, too. What are they doing now? What they felt when I dumped?

   Toy Story 3, it is very special to me, because it makes remind my child times and give a sight to see animation movie exactly without viased view. I grew up one more with toys.

The Great Gatsby (2000)

        Many people know 'The Great Gatsby' movie, but the movie many people know is 2013 version. There is 2000 version that is less popular than 2013 version. Compared to 2013, there are many diffrent factors that movie is shown.

       Its background is different from 2013 version. I think this movie  shows the backgrounds better than 2013 version. Most of things are same, but the emphasis is different. For example, 2013 version has emphasis on Dr. Ekleburg eye very much, but it doesn't show much in 2000 version. In addition, the party is not as splendid as 2013 version.

      This movie shows many symbolic characteristics too. First, the green light is very important for Gatsby. The green light shows that Daisy is alive, and it will be a hope for Gatsby. Furthermore, the valley of ashes shows the gap of upper class and lower class. Wilson is the representative of lower class and Tom and Daisy are the representative of upper class.

       In addition, there are color symbolic characteristics in movie too. The most distinguish thing is the green light. It means money and alive of Daisy. White means women(Daisy, Jordan) and clean. Red means blood and tragic story. Including these things, there are many colors that contains its meaning. Thus, we can think this movie not by seeing the relationship of Gatsby, Tom and Daisy, but by seeing the color meanings.

       Despite the 2013 version 'The Great Gatsby' is very popular for everyone, I recommend 2000 version movie because it is very interesting to find the difference of these two movies. Although 2000 version movie has some shortcomings about showing the emotions of personal relationships, the characters are attrative too. Therefore, I give 4 stars out of 5 to this movie.

Mr. Popper’s Penguins(2011)

Mr. Popper’s Penguins, “Penguins give family happiness.”

            Mr. Popper is successful businessman, but he is not happy because he divorced and he can’t play with his child, he is too busy. One day he received one parcel. It was one penguin which came from his father who had gone to Antarctic. Evenly, five penguins more came later. He can’t help being embarrassed, because  he didn’t know whether his father alive or not and this package is very extraordinary. So, he call expert of penguins and asked him to care them. However, his son misunderstanded that a penguin is his birthday present. In addition, that penguin expert was not expert penguin, but just swindler. So, his family was struggled to rescue their penguins. Lastly, they rescued penguins and live happy.

 

            In this movie, we pay attention to penguin’s role and process of change of Popper’s family. Penguins can be told main character. Although they are not actor, even people, they have huge existence. Surpirsely these penguins are real penguin. Also, they develop this scenario and they effect hugely human main characters, Mr. Popper’s family. At first, penguins were just nuisance thing because they spoiled Popper’s house. But they make his divorced wife come to Popper’s house. That made chance which Popper and his divorced wife meet together. In addition, their children loved penguins, so that makes chance which popper and his children talk each other. Finally, when penguins were in danger, there family cooperated and rescued penguins and became intimate again.

 I think this movie can help many women including me who loves shopping. The movie shows lots of clothing and accessary, so it is very exciting for you if you are interested in fashion. If you concentrate on the movie, you can find many names of brands. It makes your eyes and ears happy.

 

 Rebecca is a serious shopaholic. She has a lot of things in her closet, but her purchase had never ended. Finally, she had to transfer her work because of her credit debt that her continuous, tremendous purchase made. But, she got a new job at economy organ of expression instead of fashion magazine publishing company by her mistake that she sent mail other company. In there, her novel articles compared to fashion got popularity, so she became famous. But the creditor exposed her debit. So she decided to sell all things that she held dear.

 

 When I watched this movie, I was reflecting me of the main character. Before I came here, my allowance was limited by my parents. But, in here, they don't know how I spend my money. So my expenditure has been multiplied so much! It makes me regret my reckless purchase. But I can't control my click on the online shopping mall. I was impressed that she sold all things which she regards as her lover. Although I can't throw away my clothes, I decided not to buy unnecessary product like her, from now on. It is most important that the happiness of material purchase isn't continued.

 

 But this movie is almost unrealistic. Rebecca could solve the financial problem easily compared with ordinary people. If I buy something like her, I will be beggar earlier. In my opinion, people who watched this movie are likely to think that they can solve the financial problem although they spend more and more, because the solution always exists in the movie. So it is a little dangerous if you envy her easy solution. This is not real life, so we have to attention to not her expenditure but her changes. but you don't have to accept seriously, just you can enjoy. It constantly makes me laugh, so I want to give 4 of 5.

  'Sunny' is a name of this movie and consist of 7 girls. I watched this movie with my Korean friends and  American friend. In my case, this time was the second time of watching this movie. But it was so excited. The story is about memory of their teenager time. When they were about 40 years old, the leader, who is Ha-chun hwa, was diagnosed cancer. She didn't have so much time, but she wanted to meet 7 girls.

 

  So, Na-mi started finding her friends. But it was not easy. Because time passed long time.When they were high school students, they are same as just students. However, they lived very different life style. So some friends didn't want to meet their friends.But , finally they met together.They were the one.

 

  It showed real friendship. In this movie, we could thinking about our teenager time. They looked really fun and happy. Compare to nowadays friendship, that long time ago, we have real friendship. That time we didn't have smart phone or laptop , mp3, so we visited our friend's hose and listening the radio together. In the past, we have more strong friendship. Friendship is forever , and it is really precious feeling.

 

  I watched this movie with my American friend, so I hope he understood this meaning of this movie.I think he couldn't understanding all things, but he could understand part of this movie. Because in this movie, there were lots of Korean slang. But I think the meaning of friendship was passe on him. He said it was great and good time to watch Korean movie.

 

  So I strongly recommend this movie to you. It will be touched your memory of your teenager time.  It was a really impressive movie.

Marie Antoinette (2006)

Marie Antoinette (2006) is a historical film based on the life of Marie Antoinette who is the wife of Louis XVI and Queen of France before France Revolution in 1792. Marie used be the princess of Austria, who was charming and active. When she was 14, she married the dauphin of France in order to improve the political relationship between Austria and France. The scene that young Marie got off her Austrian gharry and change to the French gharry was so impressed me. When Marie got off Austrian gharry, some French maids took off all of her clothes and dressed her in French clothes. She was told that she couldn’t bring any belongs of Austria with her, even including her dog. This 14-year little girl was so helpless and cried badly. It is hard to imagine

that a 14-year little girl leaved her mother and her country and went to a totally unacquainted country to marrying a man whom she never met before. Mary’s married life also seemed not very happy, because her husband was a dull man and paid none of his attention for her. Lining in palace of Versailles, Mary just liked a beautiful canary in a huge cage. The lonely and empty young Mary only could have some fun by dressing on luxury clothes and accessories and joining in different parties. She didn’t know about anything about the life that her citizen’s hardship outside her palace, so she spent a huge number of money to buy the clothes, jewels and gambling. She even had an affair with a handsome man Fersen who was nobility. In the true history, Mary was executed by guillotine when after the France Revolution began. However, this movie didn’t depict about this part of her life, because the director just want to build a beautiful atmosphere in whole sotry.

If you are interested in fashion and history, this film is definitely a good choice for you. In this film, you can see numerous beautiful ladies dressed in Rococo style, they will satisfy your visual enjoyment. I will like to give this film 4 stars. 

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

The movie I saw last is Catch Me If You Can, which is very famous among people. It was the first time I saw the movie through my friend's recommendation. The genre of the movie is drama based on a real story about one man's life committing crimes: deceiving lots of people by camouflaging and counterfeiting money.

 

During the entire movie, I could not control my surprise because I could not believe that the story is true. Moreover, the criminal in the movie was a seventeen-year-old boy Frank Abagnale Junior, who did everything that happened in the movie. It was on the first day he transferred to another school that he started camouflage. It was because a student made fun of Frank looking like a substitute teacher. As soon as the school bell rang, Frank started to pretend to be a teacher. 

 

Because of his parents' divorce he ran away from his house and after that, he started to use his talented ability to deceive people. He disguised a lot, such as a reporter, a pilot, a lawyer, a doctor, and even an FBI agent. His camouflage helped himself, who does not have money, counterfeit check because he ran away from his house. However, an FBI agent Carl Hanratty tried to catch Frank, and they began to play cat and mouse each other.

 

While I was watching this film, there was no time that I felt bored. It was because the movie made me keep thinking about as what and how Frank would disguise. Also, I could concentrate on the movie because I wondered whether the FBI agent Carl can catch Frank or not.

 

On the other hand, however, I thought whether Frank could commit crimes with camouflage if he is not handsome. It was because, in some scenes, Frank seduced some women much older than he. I think it could not be successful for him to lure women if he was not handsome.

 

Last, I liked this movie because I never imagined that the criminal could get some chances in the movie. I cannot tell the ending of this movie, but the most memorable scene was in the second half of the movie.

 

Although it is hard for me to believe that this movie is based on a real story, I want others to watch because I am sure that they will have much fun through this movie I gave 5 stars.

Her mother was addicted to drugs. He got nowhere to go. He got no education. How he became a football player? This movie is the real story about how he made it.

     One day, Michael was headed to school gym because it’s cold and it’s only warm place he know. A woman who was picking up her child found him. She called him and asked him what he was doing in that cold weather. She was Leigh Anne. She took him to her car and brought him to her house. Soon, she decided to look after him and treated him as another son. His life was totally changed. He got a family. He got friends. He got a place at what he was good at in sport team. After a while he became a one of the best professional player.

     I really touched at Leigh’s action. When I saw poor people on the street in Korea, I just passed by them as I saw nothing. Leigh didn’t do that. She didn’t hesitate to help Michael. She help him not just materialistic way. She cured his heart with her love. She started treat him as her son. And she changed one person’s life. After watching this, I could feel how selfish I was. I should think about other’s life, not just about me.

     It was beautiful story, and it’s real. I could feel the real heart of Leigh’s mind. I want to give two thumbs up to this movie.

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

 

 

 

 

     The movie 'Catch Me If You Can' is about a large-scale fraud scheme of Frank Abagnale, and this movie is based on a true story. While I was watching this movie, I could not believe that it was a true story because many people were completely taken in by his various fraudulent practices.

 

     The main plot is as follows. After teen-aged Frank Abagnale's parents get a divorce, he runs away from home. His camouflaged life begins from here. At first, he disguises himself as an airplane co-pilot and makes many forged payroll checks. And then he changes these checks to money, so he suddenly becomes rich. Many people admire him just because of his pilot clothes. In the meantime, Carl Hanratty who is an FBI agent for bank fraud begins to chase him. But Frank escapes from Carl even when Frank runs directly into Carl in a hotel. After that, he pretends to be a docter and lawyer. Finally, he is caught by Carl, and he is sentenced to twelve years.

 

 

     I think Frank has a natural talent for fraud. He cunningly tells lies to many people, and he always deals with many situation in a clever manner.  He acts as if he is real pilot, docter, and lawyer under any given circumstances. When Carl comes to catch him, Frank continues to act calmly and tells a lie, so Carl is deceived by his words and misses him. I am so surprised because he always copes with difficult situations with flexibility no matter what happens. I also think he is the master of seducing women.

 

     On the other hand, I paid attention to Frank while I was watching this movie. He takes advantage of his outstanding talent in fake jobs, so he enjoys material affluence and becomes the envy of many people. However, I think he is not really happy. What he pursues is to live with people who he loves, but he finally realizes that the pursuit of wealth and fame is worthless and futile. Maybe, he just wanted a harmonious family.

 

 

     I am also impressed by Carl Hanratty.  At the first time, he is just obsessed with finding and arresting Frank. But after he feels sense of kindship with Frank, he believes and gives affection to Frank. So Frank's life changes by him more and more. Because Carl believes him continuously, Frank finally returns to FBI without falling in fake life again. At last, he becomes money expert cooperated with the FBI and lives a successful life until now. Although this movie is about fraud scheme, I can learn many lessons. So I really want to recommend this movie to you. You can also admire at performance of Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hanks! I would like to give 4 stars out of 5 stars.

 

 

Don Juan DeMarco

      “Don Juan DeMarco” is a comedy romantic film showed in 1995. The beginning of the story is that a young man who dressed like Zorro was standing on the top of the building and wanted to jump off. He claimed that he was the greatest lover Don Juan and he couldn’t find his true love so he didn’t want to live anymore. Dr. Jack Mickler who was a Psychiatrist about to retire persuaded him and sent him to the mental hospital. He decided to take this young man as the last patient in his career. However, during the ten-day therapy, Dr. Mickler had been touched deeply by this young patient’s fantastic adventure love stories. These stories made Dr. Mickler’s view of love totally change, and he even found the romantic feeling with his wife again.

  I really like this film, because it told a warm love story with a funny way. Just like a media comments writes, “The best part of love is losing all sense of reality” (Australian video release, 1995), this film bring the audiences a kind of visional love which break out of worldly chains, so it seems pure and innocent. Jonny Depp is the actor of Don Juan, he has a pair of affectionate eyes and his acting is superb. Dr Mickler was acted by Marlon Brando who is viewed as one of the greatest actors in the 20 Century. These two actor also made this film a must see. If you are a fun of romantic story, I will highly recommend you to watch this film! I would like to give this film 5 stars!   

Inception (2010)

  People enjoy dreaming. With imagination, we can do everything. We can make buildings and our own world in dream. This movie reflects enough this feature of dream, and focuses our attentions on this plot. At the beginning of the movie, we can see a happening in Saito’s dream. In his dream, the main character, Cobb and his teammates have to steal secret information. However, he fails because of his ex-wife, Mal. In dream, they can build their world freely, but they can die easily by people in the dream.

Cobb has to complete missions, but Mal always tries to kill him, and disturbs. In this situation, Saito offers him to change deep thought of Fisher, the rival of Saito in order to beat out his rival, and Cobb accepts the suggestion. In this process, we can see many amazing factors. This director analyzes characters of dreams in detail, so I was surprised at these details, such as kick, totem. Kick is an action that is needed by someone who has to wake up in a dream. It is very similar to our dream’s feature, because we wake up in our dream when we feel as we are kicking.

And totem is a tool that informs us whether we are in a dream, or we aren’t. For example, Cobb’s totem is a spinning top. When Cobb is in a dream, the totem keeps spinning. It is an unrealistic factor, so can distinguish the real world from dream. Such various factors, we find the director’s amazing imagination and expressiveness. The director tries to show many things in the movie, such as dream in dreams. This movie has an involved plot, and fantastic but familiar appreciation. So, I want to give it full marks.

Pearl Harbor(2001)

Do you know what happened in 1940's? As Korean, I have to know about Japanese colonial era.
The era was very hard to live such as suffer from starving, salvery and exploitation. So, it reminded me of the Korean history. Since middle school student, I have learned about history and watched some videos. So, I thought that the era from 1930's to 1950's was important for everyone. Especially, the World War 2 was the most. Then, I watched a movie about the World War 2. It was 'Pearl Harbor'.

The movie 'Pearl Harbor' is a part of war, drama and action movie genre. It consists of the historical fact such as attacking and destruction of Japan.
Its primary story is about attacking Pearl harbor and war between America and Japan. On December 7th, 1941, Japanese army started to attack American's territory and the war expanded to the World war. This attack gave Americans a shock and humiliation. Also, this changed the flow of world history.

In this movie, there are two main characters; they are 'Captain Rafe McCawley' and 'Captain Danny Walker'. Their dream was to be pilots and succeed. At that time, the atmosphere of the army was cold and weird, because Germans just started a war in Europe.

This movie has two main stories. One is the friendship between Rafe and Danny, and another is a romance between Rafe and the nurse 'Evelyn Stewart'. While I was watching this movie, I thought that the war shouldn't be happened because of demolition of world's economic system and situation.
Also, this causes many victims, so all the people felt depressed.



If you want to know about the crucial war history, I recommend that you should watch the movie 'Pearl Harbor'. Although it was exaggerated that two main characters acted like heroes, you will understand why the war started. This movie gives some lessons; friendship and prohibiton of the war.
While watching, you may feel sad because of victims of the World War 2. But, I think that you may feel proud of them, too. It is the crucial result of fall of imperalism. Finally, I give 5 stars out of 5 to this movie.

iron man(2008)

    Iron man is an action-adventure movie. The main character of this movie Tony stark

is a weapon company CEO. After giving publicity to the results of new weapons,

Stark is kidnapped and forced to make a weapon, but he doesn't make the killing

machine by the groups' order. Then Stark works secretly for escape under the threat

of death. As the result, Stark creates the Iron Man and escapes of the cave. When

he gets out of the cave, he notice the fact that his weapon sales to the murderers of

the world. Therefore, he quits his company and concentrates just upgrading the Iron

Man suit for American soldiers. Unfortunately, the research data, about Iron Man suit,

fall into the hands of Obadiah Stane, a Stark’s right-hand man, and Obadiah Stane

also develops a new suit like that Iron Man suit, which name is iron monger. 

 

 

 

 

 




 

   If you wonder the last scene of fighting between ironmonger and iron man, watch it

 

right now! I recommend it anyone who loves action-adventure movie. You can

 

impressed the design of Tony Stark's mark suit, but short fight scene between ironman

 

 and the ironmonger was little bit disappointed. I want to give this movie 4stars.
