How to make an American Quilt (1995)

        'How to make an American Quilt' is the movie that shows American culture briefly. The main character 'Finn' is the woman who writes her paper in her grandma's house. The movie has many stories that Finn realize about her life agian.

       There are many people in this movie. First, Glady and Hy are the sisters. In the past, they didn't have memorable past because of the personal relationships. But now, they are the best combination in the quilt club. Next is Sophia. She wanted to be free but she was depressed about her marriage. Also, Em has handsome husband, but he is casanova. Constnace has a dead husband, and she always misses her husband. Anna had a shor love in her life. Like this, there are many stories and many experiences that Finn heard. These stories are main point of Finn's future. She changes her mind by listening these stories.

       In addition, there are some American culture in this movie. First is Quilt culture. The quilt that made in the movie has its meaning for each quilts. The most important thing in doing quilt is the balance. Furthermore, quilt is like American culture; Salad bowl. Compared to melting pot, America has many subculture in many districts. Finally they show the slaves in this movie. It is associated with the America history.

       Although this isn't a romance movie, and this is not interesting to see the stories. However, we can see many American cultures by this movie, and we also can know the quilt meaning by other way. At first, I thought that this movie was boring to see because there are no actions, or interesting romances. But when I see this again, I feel many things about quilt and life. Thus, I give 4 stars out of 5 to this movie.
