Little Women (1949)

The movie I want to tell you is Little Women released in 1949. As one knows, 'Little Women' is a novel by an American writer Louisa May Alcott, and this film is an adaptation of the novel.
Today, I wanted to watch an old movie, so I decided to watch this I had downloaded before in Korea.

The story of this movie is about four a family consisting of four little sisters, their mother and their father who was fighting in the civil war. Also, this describes how the sisters grow up. Although they are a little bit poor, having a tough life, they live happily together helping their mother; therefore, the genre of this movie is a family drama containing romance.

Little women are Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March. Meg, the oldest daughter, is feminine and has a mild temper and tolerance. Amy, the youngest one, is cute and she always wants to have good things such as beautiful cloths. Beth is an introspective person and likes to play the piano. The main character Jo is a tomboy and takes on the role of man of the house. In this movie, Laurie who is Jo's neighbor loves Jo and his tutor, John Brooke, loves Meg.

Although this movie is old, I like this movie because of the main character, Jo. She is a woman acting like a man, and she likes to ride a horse although her sister Meg scolds her tomboyish acts. For me, Jo is an attractive and cheerful woman I want to be like. Also, in this movie she does not want Meg to get married because she thinks a marriage makes her family grow away. Because of this reason, Jo likes Laurie who loves her, but she pushes him away from her. I think it indicates she loves her family so much. If you watch this film, you can see how Jo is lovely as I said.

Therefore, I want to give 5 stars to this movie because it makes my heart warm by describing family affection.
