Alice in Wonderland (2010)

       Most of people know the story of "Alice in Wonderland". Although, I'm korean, I knew this story when I was 6 years old. It means this story is very famous in all over the world. In addition,  Tim Burton, who is very famous director in dark fantasy reconstitute the story. Actually, I don't know the exact story about Alice in Wonderland, however I think he made ths story more dramatic than original story.

       The most thing that I was impressed in this movie was a make-up for each character. Tim Burton tried to exaggerate the characters features more dramatically. For example, the character of 'Mad Hatter' has very big eyes, white skin, long eyebrows and red hair. First, I thought that make-up was too nasty to see. However, it delivers his mad and crazy features more easily. Moreover, the character of 'Red Queen' has very big head and she is very short. I think she is the most shocking character description in this movie. Meanwhile, there are a lot of strange and interesting characters description and you will enjoy when you see this movie.

       However, although the description is very strange and funny, it doesn't lose Tim Burton's characteristic of dark fantasy. Almost his movies are dark fantasy such as "Scissorshands" or "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and he made this movie dark too. You can see the dark story of "Alice in Wonderland" when you see the movie. The background of the story is same, but the start of movie is when Alice grows up. Actually, I saw this movie, I think this wonderland is like Tim Burton's own world, because his movies are always imaginary and shocking.

       In conclusion, its story is not very logical like detective story, but it tells you to have a dream although it is impossible. The purpose of this movie is very hopeful to everyone. Therefore, I hope everyone to see this movie, enjoy the colorful scenes, and think about the movie's real meaning. The movie says "If it is impossible, that's okay. It will be possible in some day!". Thus, I give 4 stars out of 5 to this movie.
