What do you do when
laws don’t exist? What will happen when laws don’t exist? ‘The Purge’ is a movie dealing with that
situation. In the movie, crime rate and poverty rate of the USA achieved the
lowest. However, there is secret behind this fact. There is annual event, The
Purge Day. In Purge Day, crime is
accepted legally. Even, murder can be accepted legally. Thus, people murder
someone, especially poor people. In this movie, edin’s son hides poor homeless.
Because of hide a victim, slayers invade edin’s house and try to murder his
family and homeless Afo-American person. Then they have some gunfights and
slayers all die.
There are one
different thing from I think when laws don’t exist. I think low grade people, such
as homeless, unemployed and penniless people, commit crime and the upper class
people are victims. The reason I think such that is rich people afford to apply
a lawyer when laws exist. In contrast, poor people can’t afford to apply a
lawyer. Therefore, when laws don’t exist, poor people free to shot the rich and
steal their money and get a rich. Conversely, in the movie, rich people murder
poor people because they express their violate instinct. At first I see this, I
can’t understand that situation, because I think criminals are the poor and
victims are the rich. However, it makes sense, because poor people can’t
protect themselves. For example they can’t buy a security system. Even, they
can’t buy a gun. So they can’t facing rich people who armed with sound weapons.
Whatever situations happen whether I expected or not, the
topic of this movie is very interesting. But this movie’s story doesn’t deal
with this topic well. This movie deal with only murder, although there are a
lot of kinds of crime, such as stealing, sexual crime and fraud. The topic of this movie is perfect but story is unsatisfied with the lack of topic.
