Anastasia

Another important genre we have studied in class is: animation movies. Animation movies can be: the traditional, the CG or stop-motion. The first animation movie we saw in class was traditional. Besides being of animation, the movie was based on a true story. The movie was "Pocahontas". So I've wanted to talk about other traditional animation movie is based on real fact: "Anastasia". Anastasia is an American animation movie 1997, directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. It is based on the 1956 production of the same title, by Anatole Litvak.

The movie begins when the revolution began to spread over Russia, Anastasia, the youngest daughter of the royal family, just get out alive. Years later date after she met the young Dimitri. These are heading to Paris to claim the rights of the legacy of Anastasia (Anastasia wants to know who she is because she does not remember anything and Dimitri wants the reward for finding her). The problem is that they start to grow feelings for each other. When you arrive in Paris, they are involved in a struggle against the evil monk Rasputin and his assassin, Bartok the bat.

This movie is based on a true story, though not exactly count. The real story is that Anastacia was the daughter of the last Tsar of Russia Nicholas II of Russia, who was married to Alix of Hesse, and she had 4 daughters: Olga, Maria, Anastacia and a son named Alexis. Rasputin can be entered into the royal family through his contacts with a court close to the royal family. Alexis suffered from hemophilia disease. Therefore, controlling the Tsar Rasputin with the excuse that he could cure the little heir.

The July 13, 1918 defusilar gave the order to the whole family of Tsar. The Tsar was killed instantly but the girls, who had jewels in her corset were not killed and then finished off with bayonets.
Years later appears Anna Anderson. She says she is the real Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova and who had survived and had been posing as dead among the bodies of her family and then had managed to escape thanks to a soldier. DNA testing, people who knew Anastacia revealed that Anna Anderson had no relationship with Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova.
In this case, I do not see that the differences are very large. The basis of the actual history is present in the movie. The difference is that the protagonist is ultimately the heiress. And also new factors have been added to give more drama to the movie: the love between Anastasia and Dimitri.

Overall, this movie also really like the soundtrack. The song "Once Upon a December" has won many awards and has been nominated for many others.
